When Jess & Kane reached out to me to capture their elopement somewhere near Cradle Mountain, I was so excited. They travelled all the way from Queensland to make their Tasmanian wilderness wedding dreams come true. We spent some time planning out different locations and they decided on Pumphouse Point at Lake St Clair National Park. Wanting everything to be all in one place, relaxing and easy. Every time I journey back to this magical place I am reminded of my old life, I used to live and work there back in 2005. This has many advantages, like knowing some beautiful, private spots not far from Pumphouse that look straight out of an adventure novel. Wild, rugged and dramatic, iconically Tasmanian.
We started with softly spoken vows in along the shores of the lake. The light was to harsh to begin so we took a stroll around the area to explore and wait until it was just right. That's the beauty of eloping, we get to run things our way and adapt to the weather and location. Champaign celebrations led to Jess and Kane asking for more adventure, so we left Pumphouse as there was no sunset and the day had turned quite grey. We travelled around to some of my special places until we found that pretty golden light just as it was setting over the mountains. So much reward for time spent in one of the worlds most beautiful places.
